Usually movie reboot is for sci-fi action and superhero stories, but there's report that the teen comedy 'She's All That' has a remake too. The Weinstein Company and Miramax is reportedly working on for a new version of this 1999 film starring Freddie Prinze Jr. Rachael Leigh Cooke and the late Paul Walker. Besides dead 'The Fast and The Furious' star, will Cooke and Prinze appear in the film?
According to The Wrap, they got information that 'She's All That' has a remake and Kenny Leon will sit as a director. Their sources also added that director Spike Lee's wife Tonya Lewis Lee will produce the film under her Tonik Productions company. However, Wrap shared that when they asked about the issue, a Miramax representative denied the project, while Weinstein Company's representatives didn't reply to their inquiries.
Meanwhile, Sarah Michelle Gellar's husband shared his thought of this possible remake. On Twitter, the 39-year-old former teen idol responded to his follower's sentiment with "Tough for writers with original scripts."
She's All That, earned more than $100 million worldwide when showed in theater, featured a story of Zack Siler (Prinze) who challenged by his frenemy Dean Sampson (Walker). The bet is he should turn the loner artistic student Laney Boggs (Cooke) into a Prom queen-like. Other stars who were part of this film were 'Scooby-Doo' star Matthew Lillard, RnB singer Usher Raymond, Kevin Pollak, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe,Lil' Kim, Gabrielle Union, Dule Hill, Kieran Culkin, Elden Henson, Clea DuVall, Tim Matheson, Alexis Arquette, and 'True Blood' actress Anna Paquin.
Fifteen years after the movie, Prinze slowly divert his showbiz career into different endeavors. Recently, Gellar shared on Instagram that the 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' actor will launch a cookbook next year.
"Please help me in congratulating my husband #freddieprinzejr on the announcement of his first cookbook #BackToTheKitchen coming in 2016 from #rodalebooks," Gellar's Instagram message. "I am very proud to say that I have personally tasted every one of these amazing #recipes and will continue to. But now all of you will get to share in the amazing food from my absolute favorite chef."
Meanwhile, 35-year-old Cooke welcomes her second child with 'The Originals' actor Daniel Gillies on Saturday. She delivered her baby Theodore Vigo Sullivan Gillies, who weighed in 8 pounds, 14 ounces at 5 a.m. in Los Angeles as reported by E! News.
