In what can only be termed as a not at all surprising development, it appears as though new nude mods for "Dead or Alive 5: Last Round" are now floating around online. The "Dead or Alive" franchise has long been a popular target for modders, particularly because of their female characters, so the fact that new nude mods for the latest game are now available seems to just be par for the course.
What is worth noting about the incident this time is that people behind the franchise have already advised players against doing anything similar to creating nude mods, according to PC Gamer.
Back in February, "Dead or Alive 5: Last Round" director Yohei Shimbori spoke on behalf of the game's developers Team Ninja when he said the entire staff would like to request players not to tinker around with anything that may be seen as unsavory. "We would like to ask PC users to play our game in a good moral and manner. Otherwise, we won't be able to release a title for PC again," said Shimbori.
Unfortunately, it seems as though the players could wait for only about a day before they decided to start modding their copies of the recently released PC game, according to Kotaku (WARNING: NSFW).
Some of the popular "Dead or Alive" characters targeted by the nude mods are Ayane, Marie Rose, and Momiji. The game's publisher, Tecmo, has already started taking down videos of mods spotted online, and more action should be expected from the company.
It's also worth noting that Tecmo is also going after mods that affect things other than character nudity, so it would seem that no modder's efforts are safe. In other "Dead or Alive 5: Last Round" news, a new downloadable content pack has also been released for the game's PlayStation 4 version. The new pack contains the third set of ninja costumes for the characters, according to Dual Shockers.
The latest release is currently available only in Japan, but it should be making its way west soon.
