According to a notable video game industry analyst, fans of the "Mass Effect" franchise should start circling March on their 2016 calendars, because that's the time he believes the fourth installment of the game will be released.
Analyst Michael Pachter and his team came up with the date after considering the variables currently surrounding the big name company behind the game, that being EA. He said EA has set it up very nicely for the coming years, and there could be some very fruitful times ahead, but anyone with intimate knowledge of the industry knows that these are hardly "predictions" so much as they are facts, according to Cinema Blend.
Pachter did have one substantial thing to say which could lend more credibility to his prediction.
"FY:16 is expected to feature incremental releases Mass Effect 4, Mirror's Edge 2, a new Need for Speed game, and Star Wars: Battlefront, as well as meaningful re-orders for Battlefield: Hardline, which launched in late Q4:15," said Pachter and his team.
What the statement means is that even of there is no concrete date as of yet announced for any of those games, it seems as though it only makes sense for EA to release them before the end of their fiscal year.
EA's fiscal year started this April and will end next March, according to Videogamer.
The new "Need for Speed" and "Star Wars: Battlefront" games are also expected to launch by Christmas this year, so releasing the two other games after that would seem like a smart move.
Meanwhile, in other "Mass Effect 4" news, a fan going by the name of "Shinobi602," has also predicted a release date for "Mass Effect 4." If "Shinobi602" is to be believed, the game will be released either in the Spring of 2016 or in the fall of that same year, according to Cheat Sheet.
At least one of those dates lines up with the prediction from Pachter and his team.
