For all their beef, Justin Bieber seem to be enjoying the fact that his biggest competition in the eyes of young fans worldwide, One Direction is falling apart - or at least left without one of its original member, Zayn Malik.
For his part, Zayn Malik has been hounded by nasty rumors of a drug problem which many speculate could have affected his performance and personal judgement.
A Widening Gap
To note, it was not too long ago in 2014 that an epic battle between Beliebers and Directioners, respective fan base of Bieber and One Direction, erupted on Twitter over MTV EMA held in Glasglow.
In that contest, each pop act were in a classic tight battle garnering a whopping 89 million votes each and leaving behind poor Arianne Grande on third with mere 5 million votes.
Also, adding fuel to the fire, One Direction's Liam Payne made a reference to Bieber's many arrests on Twitter to the utter disgust of the Canadian superstar's fans.
So it's not a surprise that Justin Bieber should gloat to his friends as his biggest rival in the eyes of teen fans start to fall apart at the seams.
In the words of an insider privy to Justin Bieber: "Justin has always hated One Direction's holier than thou attitude. He knows that the guys are just as bad as he is and have just as many skeletons in their closets as he does - but they put on this "good boy persona." At least Justin owns up to what he does and doesn't act like he is something he isn't to sell his music. He thinks it is hilarious that One Direction is breaking up and falling apart." as reported on Celeb Dirty Laundry.
Zayn Malik Woes
It's not the first time, Zayn Malik has faced reports of his drug problem. The constant scrutiny may have added to the pressure that he felt - making him leave in the end.
Much as he has tried to dodge these rumors, his recent wild antics caught in video showing him smoking weed with Louis Tomlison certainly were not helpful.
Worrisome absences like his Universal Studio absence in a scheduled performance further fueled these drug rumors.
As one pundit revealed: "Zayn's alcohol and drug use became a huge problem. He chose not to get clean and that is when they parted ways. They gave him every opportunity to clean up his act, but he just couldn't do it."
Zayn Malik, however, has not made an official statement on the matter.
Wow! From the looks of it, it seems the Justin Bieber has a lot to be happy about. As long as he's not caught on DUI and One Direction remains but four.
