The wait has definitely been long and at times interminable for "Grand Theft Auto V" on the PC, but with the game now closer than ever, Rockstar Games is revealing why it took so long.
In essence, Rockstar Games mentioned that the reason behind all the many delays is because the PC version of the game simply needed more work to be done before it could be delivered.
Now, while it seems as though that kind of problem could be easily fixed by simply hiring a bigger team of developers, the company, understandably, is not too keen on having anyone outside of the core group handle their most famous work, according to Gamespot.
"We want each version of the game to be the best it can possibly be, and that means having the core members of the original GTA V team working closely with the best PC developers from across all Rockstar studios-- the same crew that did great work on the PC versions of Max Payne 3, L.A. Noire, and GTA IV," said Rockstar Toronto lead gameplay designer John MacPherson.
Since each platform carried its own set of problems that needed to be hammered out, there was only so much the core team could do on one version before they could eventually finish up and start work on the next one. It just so happens that the PC version of the game was the last one they got to.
Rockstar Games also said the "Grand Theft Auto V" on the PC took so long because they wanted it be capable of running not just on premium machines, but also on, the not-so high end models.
One good thing about the delays is that the game will now be fully equipped right from the start, with even the coveted "Heists" feature available, according to Tech Radar.
There could still be more content coming to the game soon as rumors of a Casino DLC have been persistent.
According to the Gospel Herald, rumors of the Casino DLC started back in 2013, but Rockstar Games has been mum on the matter.
The PC version of the "Grand Theft Auto V" will be available on April 14.
