Bloodborne Gamer Guide and Tips (Part One): A Hunter’s Digest to Get the Ball Rolling, Health Bar, Weapons, Firearms and More

By

Bloodborne is a hellish world of carnage and epic brutality and knowing how to survive is logical. From the very start, gamers are pushed into an infernal frying pan of unrelenting monsters ready to end the game for the player as soon as possible and it is for this reason that this guide digest is released. This is the first part of a series of guides that will help Bloodborne players advance through and hopefully beat the game in one's lifetime.

Always be Mindful of one's Health bar

First and foremost, rule one in Bloodborne Hunter rule book is to mind the health bar. Hitting the enemy a few seconds after being hit will give a health recovery for the player. Being aggressive and having an 'eye for an eye' mentality will help gamers advance through this exceedingly difficult game.

Second is to always use Blood vials when necessary. Whenever one's character gets damaged by enemies, use Blood vials immediately to regain health. These Bloodborne 'health potions' are scattered everywhere so use it well. Though there are occasional 'dry' spells when farming blood vials, it is still one of the most common things players will see dropped by enemies.

Know fully thy Weapons

Weapons in Bloodborne is not just for style like in other RPGs, Bloodborne weapons are there for a reason. There are two main weapon types in Bloodborne, melee and firearms.

Melee weapons

Slashing and stabbing weapons are good for tight corridors and when confronted by multiple enemies. Heavy weapons like hammers and axes inflict heavy damage but are a bit clunky to wield. The saw on the other hand is widely considered the most versatile of all melee weapons type and most players who have completed the game use it profusely.

Firearms

Firearms in Bloodborne are not overpowered as the game is not a shooting fest in the first place. Most firearms are only used to stun, divert and hinder enemies, giving ample time to strike with one's main melee weapon. The trick is combining the stunning power of firearms and the balance of speed and striking power of the melee weapon. The preferred weapon combination is the saw+pistol duo.

The importance of dodging, rolling and evading

If mastering weapons is an important part in one's Bloodborne experience, mastering the art of dodging, rolling and evading is equally essential. In some cases, especially with difficult enemies, dodging effectively is the only way to really defeat it. So never forget to upgrade one's evasive skills as it will surely help players go forward in this hellish game.

Leveling Up is Not Everything

As reported by Gamespot, one ultra-hardcore player managed to beat the game using the lowest class character and without leveling up. This dramatically showed that leveling up is not everything, it is one's skill and technique that ultimately dictates how fast a gamer can finish the game.

The next part will focus more on how one can advance through the game using techniques showed by BOYvsVIDEOGAM, the Youtuber who managed to finish the game without leveling up.
