'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' gives way to 'Uncharted: The Remastered Trilogy' this 2015? 'A Thief's End' goes live 2016

"Uncharted: The Remastered Trilogy" had been spotted in a Swiss retailer called CeDe with a release date set on September 30; could this mean that Naughty Dog might have other things laid out on the table before finalizing "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End?" Apart from that, reports had emerged that the game developer would be moving the launch date of the "Uncharted" finale in 2016.

The advertisement, which was first spotted by IGN, on "Uncharted: The Remastered Trilogy" had been subsequently taken down; however, it would seem that the trilogy would include all of Nathan Drake's exploits in PS3, based on a report from International Business Times. On the other hand, many gaming enthusiasts felt that the advertisement's authenticity was highly suspect. For one, the box art in the advertisement raised several red flags; the PlayStation Network logo on the advertisement was out of date and the box art was made by a fan.

Then again, Sony felt that the "Uncharted" series was a fantastic game that could be a viable "candidate for remastering." Sony's president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida had discussed that possibility of creating a remastered edition for the "Unchartered" series last year. Yoshida said that "almost 50% of people who have purchased a PS4 didn't own a PS3, and that's lots of people that missed exclusive PS3 [games] . . . there [were] requests from some consumers for games that were released later in the generation, like 'Uncharted,' which people might have missed . . . that would be a good candidate. We don't want to flood the market with remade games either."

Meanwhile, Naughty Dog Lead Designer Kurt Margenau went on to Twitter about playing "Uncharted 3" on PlayStation Now, based on a report from GearNuke. Aside from that, the game developer had also confirmed that they would be moving the launch date of "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" by 2016, which could mean that they would be either focusing on further improving the game or preparing the launch the "Uncharted: The Remastered Trilogy" by the end of the year.

Either way, "Uncharted" fans would certainly be waiting for the upcoming updates from Naughty Dog in the weeks to come.
