"Rainbow Six: Siege" hopes to make the multiplayer tactical shooter genre a more viable one, but it appears as though the results are mixed if the closed alpha testing for the game is the primary consideration.
In the game, players can choose from two different sides with similarly different objectives. One side's goal is to rescue a hostage, while the other side is intent on capturing that very same hostage as they rain fire on the in-game locale, according to Gaming Bolt.
Both sides offer their own reasons why you should side with them, with one allowing players to deploy any strategy they deem fit in order to get the hostage, while the other allows them to set up all kinds of obstacles and fortifications to prevent their opponents from completing their goal. The game also gives players drones equipped with cameras to help with their respective goals. It's worth noting that all of this action is taking place inside of a destructible environment just to make things a little more interesting.
When playing at least the alpha version of "Rainbow Six: Siege," players will have to choose from a specific kind of character build before they can get started, according to INC Gamers. Once a specific character build has been chosen, that option will no longer be available to players selecting afterward.
As of now, it's unclear whether the game will stay true to what it is in this closed alpha testing stage or if major changes could still be on their way. Even with the alpha testing finished, players can still experience the game prior to it being formally launched. A beta test is slated to be available for the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One later on this year, according to Videogamer.
For fans looking to make sure they get a chance to play the beta test, they will need to pre-order the game.
