'Minions' Movie Update: Despicable Me army releases with Comic Book and 'Minions Paradise' Mobile Game

By

After two very successful movies in the Despicable Me franchise featuring them, the yellow creatures simply called Minions are enjoying success on their own. A Minions movie is already slated to be released in July this year in the United States. The said movie was first scheduled to be released in December last year but Universal Studios decided that releasing it during the summer like Despicable Me 2 will also bring in a lot of money. Aside from the movie though, the Minions are also making appearances almost everywhere.

Minions Comics

It was recently announced that the little yellow critters in the upcoming Minions Movie will be appearing in comics this summer. The said graphic novels will be produced by Titan Comics. The British publishing company has announced that four comic books, two digest collections, two hardcover editions, and a paperback collection will be released in connection with the movie's big screen debut.

Minions Mobile Game

The creators of the creatures, Illumination and Universal have come to an agreement with Electronic Arts to bring the minions to mobile gaming systems around the world. The partnership will start with the game "Minions Paradise" set to be released later this year. The agreement will also see the minions taking the lead roles in more mobile game titles to be developed in coming years.

In the latest movie appearance for the minions, the story will revolve around their history. The plot would focus on three minions travelling to the United States to find a new villain they can work with. They have after all failed and destroyed former masters like Genghis Khan and Dracula. In this movie, they will be working with Scarlet Overkill, a villain played by Sandra Bullock. This is a spinoff and a prequel at the same time to the Despicable Me movie as it happened before the minions met Gru.
