Mortal Kombat X Update: Additional Factions, Gameplay Review, Live Stream, & More

Mortal Kombat X sneaks three more additional factions to represent the game as it hit consoles today, while reviews put the game to a best level compared to other fighting video games in the industry. Plus, NetherRealm has just concluded the game's stream.

While the live stream explores the various modes of features of the game and the gory fight scenes, additional factions have also been hinted, adding to Black Dragon, Special Forces and White Lotus. Lin Kuei faction is where EarthRealm protected by Sub Zero. The Brotherhood of Shadow to counter the goal of the Lin Kuei where its followers serve the fallen Elder God, Shinnok.

Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat X has flooded with good reviews on its first day of release. Sticking to its legacy, the game is pushing onto a new horizon in its development from graphics to gameplay. According to Polygon, Mortal Kombat X bested other fighting games with its graphically violent Fatalities, finishing moves, mini-game distractions and additional fighting characters.

NetherRealm developer build the game's storyline through the 2011's Mortal Kombat framework while fighting mechanics have been refined and reinvented with key additions. Despite the complex story where playable and non-playable combatants from throughout the franchise are stuffed, the studio managed to pull off the characters neatly.

The roster has two dozen fighters composed of new, old, out-of-this world and cameos. The veterans include Mileena, Kitana, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade and more. The weird new characters include D'Vorah and Ferra and Torr. The fighting tactics of the characters have been well-received by fans, giving them leeway and flexibility. Each fighter has three fighting styles of mixed move set.

According to another review, the previous Mortal Kombat online version is a bit sluggish, while others had a handful of full-second delays in action, but this one's "perfectly solid." However, the material reward that for winning Faction Wars has reportedly not arrived to the winning group.

Mortal Kombat X is now out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
