Should Daenerys beware of young Griff? According to iDigital Times, there is a possibility that Griff is the mummer's dragon. The outlet cited that Daenerys previously received a prophecy from Quaithe of Asshai to beware of the mummer's dragon. This young, false dragon has been widely thought of as the young Griff.
In a discussion of "A Dance with Dragons" on Good Reads, a user named Joseph pointed out that a red priest once told Tyrion: "Dragons old and young, true and false, bright and dark. And you. A small man with a big shadow, snarling in the midst of all," he said.
Another user named Marina, however, recalled Quaithe's prophecy and pointed out that the true Aegon is dead and there could be an impostor pretending to be Aegon. She noted, though, that Tyrion could also be a Targaryen, because he does not get sick.
While the outlet noted that Griff is the real Aegon Targaryen, it was a bit suspicious that the young Griff was not included in "Game of Thrones" season five. This led the outlet to conclude that this could confirm suspicions that Griff is the mummer's dragon and not Tyrion.
Meanwhile, "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin previously aired his sentiments on finishing the books before the series comes to an end. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin revealed that he will publish "The Winds of Winter" before "Game of Thrones" season six premieres in 2016.
"I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish," said Martin, who added that he has already canceled a number of interviews and guest appearances in order to finish the book in time.
