‘Tekken X Street Fighter’ PS4, Xbox Release Date set this 2016? Will the character list feature new fighters from 'Tekken 7' and 'Street Fighter 5'?

"Tekken X Street Fighter" is reported to be set for release this 2016 for PS4 and Xbox as Bandai Namco will shift the focus of its development team to the crossover game with Capcom. New gameplay will feature clash between famous characters from Tekken and Street Fighters. Katsuhiro Harada reassures that the game is not cancelled and they may even surprise their fans with their release.

RELEASE DATE SET

Bandai Namco announced this April that "Tekken 7" will be finally hitting the game consoles this year. Thus, it is safe to speculate that "Tekken X Street Fighter" will be the next focus for development of the company considering that it is already long overdue. Reports indicate that a 2016 release may be possible since a steady and dedicated team is already assigned to it.

The collaboration between these two game developers have kept fighting gamers excited for the possibilities of pitting their favorite fighters from each game series against one another. It would also be intriguing to see if Bandai Namco will include their latest roster of new characters in "Tekken 7" with the new characters in "Street Fighter V" in the upcoming "Tekken X Street Fighter" game. This has yet to be confirmed by the two gaming companies.

DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

Bandai Namco has been very busy in the development of the 10^th installment of the video game "Tekken X Street Fighter' since February of this year. Katsuhiro Harada, game director and head producer of the "Tekken" video game confirmed that the game might actually be released later than it was previously predicted. With the game being developed for quite some time, Katsuhiro Harada continues to reassure fans that the crossover has not been cancelled.

During the San Diego Comic-Con 2010, it was announced that a crossover "Street Fighter X Tekken" is already under Capcom's offering. Two years later, "Street Fighter X Tekken" came out. Bandai Namco's version on the other hand remains to be unavailable to the public. Harada explained that Bandai Namco was looking for a right time to release it. It was included in Bandai's official release schedule for 2014 but did not come with a specific date to look forward too.
