"Daredevil" is the biggest thing to hit the superhero TV world in a long time. Marvel's first Netflix-based series, following Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), the blind lawyer with super-enhanced senses who fights crime as the battle-hardened Daredevil, has blown up the Internet in the last week. Ever since it premiered on Friday, April 10, no one can stop talking about the series; providing endless recaps, giving rave reviews and detailing the show's incredible fight scenes, when Matt Murdock launches himself at waves of thugs and performs incredible feats of martial arts skill.
So with all this "Daredevil" love going around, it's no surprise that rumors have sprung up about a "Daredevil" movie. First up is Forbes, which speculates on a potential "Daredevil" crossover film with the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise. It's an extremely bizarre idea, we'll give it that- but Forbes makes a few interesting points. Their biggest being that "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was originally created as a spoof of "Daredevil," so the two universes are far more similar than anyone realizes.
Another rumor about the "Daredevil" movie comes from the "Daredevil" cast themselves, who recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about their future ideas for crossing over with the rest of the Marvel Universe. According to star Charlie Cox, he'd like "Daredevil" to cross over with a future "Punisher" TV series. Elden Henson, who plays Daredevil's best friend Foggy Nelson, wants the series to join with an "Iron Man" film at some point in the future. Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Paige, close friend to Matt and Foggy, thinks the show should cross over with Marvel's upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot.
Which do you think would make the best Daredevil film? A team-up with Spider-Man, Iron Man or the Punisher?
Daredevil's second season will premiere on Netflix at some point, but not anytime in the near future. Jessica Jones is going to premiere first at the end of 2015, then Luke Cage and Iron Fist after that. Finally, "Daredevil" will return in the fifth Netflix series, a team-up with all four characters titled "The Defenders."
