'Star Wars: Battlefront' developer describes game as 'incredibly fun and immersive' in more ways than one

By

In a recent session on Reddit, "Star Wars: Battlefront" producer Jesper Nielsen was effusive in his praise of the much-hyped game, saying it is "incredibly fun and immersive." Nielsen says the game does a great job of making players feel as though they are present in the in-game locations themselves, which would be an undeniable thrill for fans of not just the games, but even the movies from the highly-successful franchise.

Nielsen does qualify his comments a bit, saying his claim that the game is immersive is only the opinion he has formed based on his previous experiences with other titles from the "Star Wars" franchise, according to WCCF Tech.

"No, it's my personal opinion. I've played a lot if not all Star Wars games. I've never tried one where I've felt like I'm really there," said Nielsen.

According to Nielsen, it's also not just the visuals that help to create the immersive environment around the players, since the in-game sounds themselves are just as high-quality. Nielsen's comments came just as excitement has been building to a fever pitch thanks to the recently unveiled trailer for the game.

The recently released trailer showed off some in-engine footage and also featured a variety of different locations which are expected to be part of the game when it is finally released, according to Stuff.co.nz.

Some of the more notable locations found in trailer includeTattooine, Sullust, Hoth, and Endor. In-game combat footage can also be found in the trailer. New gameplay details about "Star Wars: Battlefront" have also been recently revealed.

Interestingly, the game will not feature a conventional campaign mode, and in its place will be a single player mode that comes with "crafted missions," according to Express UK. The move was made with the intention of further emphasizing the multiplayer aspects of the game.

If fans are somewhat disappointed by the lack of a campaign mode, they will be pleased to know that some of the franchise's most iconic characters will also be playable in-game. As long as they meet some in-game requirements, players can soon find themselves taking on the role of Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and the fan-favorite, Boba Fett.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" will be released on the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One starting November 17.
