"Better Call Saul" star Bod Odenkirk who plays the struggling lawyer Jimmy McGill will eventually transition into the criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. However, Odenkirk revealed that good times are waiting for McGill in the next season as the show runners Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan plans to dig deeper into the conflicted hero's story. Does it mean fans still won't see Saul Goodman in "Better Call Saul" Season 2?
"Better Call Saul" Season 2 official details are still yet to be announced by AMC and the show runners but Bob Odenkirk hints that Jimmy McGill will be having a good time in the forthcoming second season. In an interview, he admits that he still doesn't know the major details as they are still scratching the surface of next season.
"I don't know what's going to happen, but based on the very brief and very general conversations I've had with Vince and Peter, I think Jimmy's got some ups coming his way and some good times, which could be fun to watch," Odenkirk said.
Now fans are asking what the actor meant with his statement. Will Jimmy McGill have a better life financial-wise? Or will he develop a romantic relationship with Kim Wexler? Better Call Saul Season 1 concluded with Jimmy saying, "I know what stopped me, and it's never stopping me again," before he drives off. It could be a symbolic act implying that the struggling lawyer will begin putting Saul Goodman together or it could mean that he won't let the good things happen to his life as Jimmy McGill.
Co-creator Peter Gould admits that when Jimmy drove away from the law partnership that could impress his brother Chuck, it put him closer to becoming Saul Goodman. However, despite the bold act, Gould still think that it will still take time before fans see Saul as they still have to make a believable dark transition.
"The road to Saul Goodman is much more convoluted and filled with a lot more pain and a lot more energy than we thought it would be. And in some ways we're realizing now that it's a tragedy. Because Jimmy McGill really is a decent person, at least he's trying to be a decent person." Gould adds, "He has a lot of wonderful qualities and in order to become Saul Goodman you have to wonder where did those qualities go?"
"Better Call Saul" Season 2 will bring good times to Jimmy McGill that could only mean Saul Goodman still won't appear in the next season. Bob Odenkirk admits that it will be fun to watch McGill in the second season as his story still has a lot of facets in it.
