After the immediate success of Titanfall, it gradually faded into the shadows as other FPS titles were eventually released into the market. However, there is no doubt that it captured the hearts of players resulting to the current development of Titanfall 2 which addresses what it lacked in the first version.
However, as of the moment, Respawn, the game's developer, has released few to almost no information on what should be expected or featured as well as a possible date for the Titanfall 2 PS4 release.
Though, during the interview that confirmed the game's development, slight hints on possible features and added content were dropped. Moreover, the likely single campaign mode is generating the most hype and attention towards the game. Mostly, because the first Titanfall did not have an offline story mode and concentrated more on the multiplayer aspect.
In addition, the lack of a campaign is seen as the reason to the gradual decrease of players because there was no backstory that filled their minds during a match. Respawn intends to correct the failure, however, they did not release any information as to what the campaign is likely going to be. Although the gaming community is hopeful that it will not be a simple shooting-plus-map experience and would feature something new that is different from the conventional story modes of first person shooter games.
Lastly, the other only-known information about the game is that it is going to be a multiplatform release as opposed to Titanfall which was an Xbox game exclusive. As a result, this guaranteed a wider multiplayer community. However, Respawn needs to work on their network to ensure that the massive population will be well-accommodated during the game's official release date.
The date for Titanfall 2 PS4 release is likely not going to be anytime soon since there have been no trailers nor gameplay teasers suggesting that work is not halfway to production. As a result, players can only wait for further announcements. Also, you cannot blame Respawn for not rushing since they want to deliver the best gaming experience as they can.
