"The Legend of Korra" movie spin-off has long been wished and anticipated by the fans of the series. A possible movie with a Yakone inspired plot might be hitting the movie screens in the near future. Netflix, one of US online streaming service might be working on an online movie inspired by the events in the cartoon series "The Legend of Korra."
One of the most interesting and intriguing plots in the "The Legend of Korra" movie spin-off that is cinema worth is the "Yakone incident." Yakone, is one of Avatar's Aang's greates rival during his adulthood. The villain is considered the leader of all the underground activities in Republic City and has the power to bend blood. The famous "Yakone incident" features Yakone trying to escape Republic City after being judged for life imprisonment against his crimes in the Republic City. Avatar Aang will manage to capture Yakone during his escape and manages to put end to his evil by removing his capabilities of bending.
Korra's will be later on involved with Yakone's sons. Yakone will eventually escape and have a family of his own. He will seek for revenge and will teach his sons, Noatak and Tarrlok the forbidden act of Psychic Blood Bending and will send them in a mission to destroy Republic City.
Meanwhile Netflix is being considered and petitioned by fans of the series to continue producing the series and include it in the rosters of shows featured in the online streaming service. The petition has started since 2012 and is continuously seeking for supporters to help the group with their cause to bring "The Legend of Korra" as well as the other book series under the "Avatar" franchise into the small screen.
Netflix is rumored to be actually considering producing for the series but would want to explore a movie rather than a series. The streaming service is rumored to be focusing on the lesbian relationship between Korra and Asami. It was already revealed by the creators of the series that Korra and Asami are connected intimately in the show and fans, the mature ones, are looking forward for someone to venture on the concept. Netflix being an online streaming service somehow guarantees that the movie, if ever it will be produced, will be accessible to a mature audience only.
Despite the several news and predictions of a "The Legend of Korra" movie spin-off, Nickelodeon is keeping their lips on whether they will pursue with a Yakone inspired movie or if they will collaborate with Netflix for a possible online movie.
