Samsung announces the release of 2 flagships models, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 5 within the next twelve months. The declaration sparks rumours on what specs and features the two showcase that are to set a precedence in smartphone development and research.
Samsung Galaxy S7 features a RAM rumoured to be between 4-6 GB. In response to the demand of a smartphone with better display resolution, Galaxy S7 sports a 4K resolution. Many believe that the same is not a far possibility since Samsung's television enterprise is known for cutting-edge technology. When it comes to design, it is still unknown if the company retains the AMOLED display or instead opts for OLED. Furthermore, Galaxy S7's most controversial spec rumour remains to be the foldable screen feature which if pushes through is sure to steer the world of smartphone technology to the next level.
Samsung Galaxy S7 features an octa-core processor. Although Samsung previously advertised S6 to have an octa-core, a lot think that it is misleading since in reality Samsung S6 owns a pair of quad-core processors that are clocked at different speeds. This is expected to change with Samsung S7's true octa-core chip. In addition, Apple is speculated to grace iPhone 7 with a DSLR-quality camera or at least a minimum of 30-megapixel rear camera; many perceive that Samsung uses this as a benchmark for Galaxy S7.
Galaxy Note 5 on the other hand is believed to be the first mass-oriented mobile device to employ the 4K technology. Nonetheless, this news remains unconfirmed by Samsung and instead, Note 5 gets an Ultra HD. Note 5 has a 5.9-inch dual-curved display covered with Gorilla Glass 5. Its camera upgrades to 20-megapixels.
Both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 5 are initially speculated to feature Samsung's very own Exynos technology; but just recently, the company confirms both are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors instead.
