X-Men fans have a new thing to pester as actress Olivia Munn might have posted a "spoiler" for her Psylocke costume on Wednesday. Munn, 34, plays Betsy Braddock a.k.a. Psylocke, a telepathic and telekinetic mutant with a bionic eye and ninja fighting skills. "If the latex fits," she captioned in an Instagram photo. "X-Men: Apocalypse" is Munn's first major big budget blockbuster.
And as her first major film, Munn must have been preparing. The Instagram photo shows only a mere part of the full costume with Munn wearing dark green long-sleeved latex-type body suit and electric blue latex gloves. This is a big change from the Marvel Comics version of Psylocke, who wears a signature purple suit.
Munn previously had supporting roles in "Magic Mike" and "Iron Man 2." She has also admitted that she is fan of cosplay in the past. In fact, Munn already attended a number of ComicCons donning a Wonder Woman or Princess Leia costume. She told Ask Men "I love dressing up in superhero outfits and in fact, when I dress up as Wonder Woman, I actually think that I'm more powerful. That is definitely a geeky attribute, when you put on a costume and be like, 'Oh yeah! I can totally kick ass!'-when you truly can't." She also told that playing Psylocke is a dream role come true for her.
Director Bryan Singer announced that Munn will play Psylocke through an Instagram post: "Excited to welcome @oliviamunn as Betsy Braddock! #Psylocke #XmenApocalypse #XMEN," he wrote.
Munn is starring alongside Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as the young Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, and among others. The plot is still unknown but according to ComingSoon.net, it will be set in the 1980s and will offer some younger versions of previously-seen characters. "X-Men: Apocalypse" has started filming in Montreal, Canada this month, and is due to release in theaters on May 27, 2016.
