Miley Cyrus and Patrick Schwazenegger are no longer taking a break from each other, as the five-month-old couple has reportedly called it quits. What caused their breakup? Was there a third party?
"It's not a break. It's done," a source confirmed to PEOPLE. Despite recent reports claiming that the "Wrecking Ball" singer and Schwazenegger were only temporarily taking a break from each other due to their busy schedules, the said couple is said to have broken up for good.
The outlet's source added that Cyrus and Schwazenegger found themselves in "two different places in their lives," adding that Cyrus is busy with her singing career while Schwazenegger is focusing on his studies.
Cyrus has been recently spotted at Coachella with friends and has been noticeably spotted without Schwazenegger in the past weeks even when Schwazenegger was at Coachella with Bella Thorne on April 8. These separate sightings fueled speculations that Cyrus and Schwazenegger have split. The breakup rumors started when Arnold Schwazenegger's son was spotted with another girl while he was on spring break in Mexico, for which the 21-year-old USC student claimed that the girl was only a good friend of his.
Schwazenegger wrote on Twitter: "Omg. It's one of my best friends girlfriend... Would NEVER do anything against my GF.....Girls have guy friends and guys have friends that are girls."
According to Hollywood Life, Schwazenegger tried to apologize to the "We Can't Stop" singer and showered her with gifts and sweet messages. The couple seemed to have patched things up after they were spotted hanging out over sushi in Los Angeles on March 23. Unfortunately, that was the last that was seen of Cyrus and Schwazenegger together.
Patrick Schwazenegger and Miley Cyrus first went public together in November and have been in countless shots together while packing on the PDA. Cyrus also expressed her feelings for Schwazenegger via several Instagram posts, including her pizza onesie, which Cyrus wore and called him the best boyfriend ever.
