‘Tomorrowland’ Movie Update: Brand New Trailer reveals George Clooney's sci-fi scenes; Film website launches interactive experience

By

With only a month for its US debut, Walt Disney Studios has released the new trailer for Brad Bird and Damon Lindelof's sci-fi adventure "Tomorrowland." The new trailer is the third among the series of trailers released in the recent months. It gives a much longer peek at the interaction between Frank Walker, portrayed by George Clooney, and Casey Newton, played by Britt Robertson. As shown, Frank and Casey are on the run from deadly robots trying to capture Casey for reasons not inferred.

Alas, the three recently released trailers including this new one have kept most major plot details under shawls. But like most George Clooney-starring Disney film, the movie will predictably incorporate all the sci-fi gunfights and graphic deaths, as most sci-fi flicks do. For now, all that has been implied by the teaser trailers is George Clooney's character transporting a teenage girl to the futuristic world of "Tomorrowland."

Beforehand, the first two trailers have focused on what appears to be the "first half" of the film. Intriguing mysteries too have been teased on those previews. There seemed to be a flying bathtub, giant robots, a rocket powered Eiffel Tower, and a whole bunch of sci-fi awesomeness. Meanwhile, the official site for the film has also been launched. Fans can direct to TakeMeToTomorrowland.com wherein they can dilly dally with the hidden content, new visuals, and an interactive diagram of "Tomorrowland."

Two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird's "Tomorrowland" is hitting theaters on May 22. It stars Academy Award-winner George Clooney (Frank), former boy-genius jaded by disillusionment and claims to have worked in "Tomorrowland," Britt Robertson as Casey, an optimistic teen with a scientific curiosity, Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy as Athena, Judy Greer, Tim McGraw, and among others.

"Tomorrowland" is a screenplay by "Lost" writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird (The Incredibles and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), with Bird as the director himself.

How do you think will the plot of "Tomorrowland" revolve? Will be it just another sci-fi story? Or are you optimistic that it will be a hit since it will be George Clooney starring? Share with us your two cents!
