Baraka, Rain, Tanya, Sindel and possibly more storyline characters could soon be joining the main roster of "Mortal Kombat X" based on speculation about comments made by series creator Ed Boon.
After recently being asked about whether certain storyline characters who are currently unplayable could be added to the game, Boon simply responded by mentioning a possible "Story Pack."
Off the cuff answers should hardly be taken as official responses even by fans, but Boon has a reputation for teasing new additions to games via social interactions. It's not at all out of the realm of possibility that this is Boon's way of basically making the preliminary declaration that new characters could be coming to the game, according to Gamespot.
Seemingly making the rumors of characters being added to the game more credible, is the fact that those storyline characters were already playable options in previous installments of the franchise.
One other reason why these currently unplayable characters could soon be part of the roster is because players already have to fight them in the game as they go through the title's campaign mode, according to Lazygamer. It certainly doesn't seem as though it would be too difficult for the people behind "Mortal Kombat X" to simply make a few tweaks and suddenly make these characters playable as well.
It's also worth noting that players who have "Mortal Kombat X" on the PC can already choose to play these characters if they are willing to do some modding, according to Gameplanet.
A Reddit user going by the name "Xvermillion" recently posted a series of videos online in which he/she is using the movesets of characters such as Baraka, Rain, Tanya, and Sindel. Although, the character models were not available for each of the corresponding movesets, so the mods themselves still left a lot to be desired.
Fans and players alike will just have to wait and see whether or not these unplayable characters will become actual parts of the roster.
