Speculations on Microsoft's Lumia smartphones have two flagship devices and two mid -rangers set for release in the second or third quarters of 2015.
More than a year after Microsoft acquired the Nokia phone division, the new Lumia premium flagship smartphones are reportedly ready to roll out soon after a series of low end Lumia 540, 430, 640, 532, and 435 were released.
Phone Arena reports that the launch of the new devices will come pre loaded with the Windows 10 update coinciding with the new operating system public release. The Windows 10 will run on all screens from phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, and TV.
Nokia Power User (NPU) shares that the new Lumia devices may be referred to as Lumia 940, and Lumia 940 XL for the flagship phones. The mid-rangers will be Lumia 840, and Lumia 740.
NPU reveals source information that the Lumia 840 in the works may have a 5-inch screen size, a 13-14 megapixel rear-facing camera on Pureview, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera, Dual-Sim support, and a better processor.
The Lumia 740 XL will have a bigger display at 5.5 to 5.7 inches, and may have the same camera specs as the Lumia 840 minus the Pureview.
The two flagship devices Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL, and the mid-rangers Lumia 840 and Lumia 740 will run on Windows 10 for Phones carrying the services of Bing, Sykpe, Xbox, and Microsoft Office on the premium devices. Lumia 940 will have a 5.2 inch display, with Lumia 940 XL sporting a phablet size 5.7 inch display.
The rear-camera sensor will be bumped up to 24-25 megapixels. The front-facing selfie camera will feature 5 megapixels or even higher.The Microsoft mobile package is said to include innovative features such as 3D-interaction, a high tech Iris scanner, and native stylus Pen support.
Speculations on Microsoft's Lumia smartphones also say that the Lumia 940, 940 XL flagships, and Lumia 840, 740 mid-rangers will compete directly with the 2015 release of the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.
