As May approaches, fans of Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studio's racing simulation fans are even more excited as final build screenshots reveal outstanding level of detail. Fans are already amazed at some screenshots, which looked like real-life photos of cars. With this level of realism achieve in this game, it would certainly go head to head with big racing titles such as Gran Turismo.
Screenshots posted on the Project CARS website via Flickr are mouth-watering as images reveal realistic visuals of cars and race tracks. The level of detail continues as even water-droplets, road textures, reflections and gas emissions are all indistinguishable from real-life photos.
Project CARS also showed a dramatic comparison between real-life environment and the game with a side-by-side comparison video and it is stunning.
According to Gamespot, Project CARS will have at launch, 110 courses to choose from and 30 race locations. Some of the race courses are only different layouts of one location. These racing locations are based on real-life courses such as those in Zhuhai International Circuit in China, Nürburgring in Germany, the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France and Chesterfield in the United Kingdom.
The complete roster of cars are not yet fully revealed but according to the game's website, players will have one free car every month. According to the website, it is their way of saying thanks to their fans who have patiently waited, even after a series of setbacks and delays.
Project CARS is an ambitious game project by Slightly Mad Studios, but at the moment, with amazing screenshots of the final build, it would seem that they have nailed it. The game is set for a May 8 release for the PS4/XBO/PC, though it is not certain if further postponement will occur, especially as developers admit that the delay was caused by "tricky" bugs that need to be fixed. Nevertheless, if Slightly Mad Studios overcome this technical problem, they may win the motorsport simulations race against other big triple-A racing games such as GT.
