Apple's next flagship device is rumored to be the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
With the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus released less than six months ago, and the iPhone 6S reportedly in the works, rumors are abound that instead of getting the iPhone 6S as expected Apple fans are getting the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus instead.
And it was KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who apparently thinks that to be the case - the specs meant for the iPhone 6S is actually for an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Whichever phone model it may be, the California-based tech giant is set to release it by Q3 2015, possibly in September.
As for the specs, as early as now it is expected that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will have the latest processor chip from the company, rumored to be the A9, the mass production of which has been given to Samsung.
With this, the iOS 9 which is reportedly in the works as well, will see the light of day in the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. More details about the latest iOS is expected to be revealed in June at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference.
The iPhone manufacturer's answer to Spotify is also going to come with the newest flagship device. Although still unnamed at this point, it will be powered by Beats Music at would cost US$7.99 per month.
As we reported earlier, the iPhone 6S is supposed to be armed with an improved 8MP camera, Intel wireless card, the Touch ID system, and the Force Touch. The Touch ID sensor is a fingerprint system designed to provide a better phone security in conjunction with the Apple ID and other standard security in place. It will also serve as a new verification standard for Apple Store purchases. On the other hand, the Force Touch technology used in Apple Watches is supposed to make touchscreen and phone navigaion muh more efficient.
All of these are going to make an appearance in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus instead.
As for the physical design, not much change is seen as functionality has been given priority over aesthetic appeal. That means, Apple will stick with the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model. The Wall Street Journal reported that a pink version is in the works.
Kuo, regarded as the most accurate Apple analyst, also mentioned that the reason an iPhone 6S won't be coming is because of the company's move to make the iPhone 5S its "free with subscription model", especially since the 2013 handset is apparently still selling well. Therefore, an iPhone 6S will compete with the iPhone 5S, so Apple decided to skip it and move on with the 7th iteration of the flagship phone.
Whether it be an iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple's next offering is going to be worth the wait.
