'Destiny' 'House of Wolves' expansion to finally allow material exchanges and offer support for older gear upgrades

New and exciting changes are coming to "Destiny" via the new "House of Wolves" expansion, including changes being made to the game's economy as well as to its equipment. Starting off with the new material exchange feature, players can now visit a character known as The Speaker and offer an exchange of materials. Each material exchange will be a one-for-one deal, but players can trade for more than one kind of item if they choose to do so.

A limited version of material exchanges is actually available right now even prior to the expansion being released, but the cost of doing so is expensive and only higher-level Guardians can partake in the transaction, according to Polygon. As for the new upgrade system coming to "Destiny" via the new expansion, players will be happy to know the changes will affect Legendary and Exotic gear significantly.

The new system will now enable players to upgrade Legendary and Exotic gear so that they now possess a higher max damage cap, according to IGN. The new upgrade path, as it is known in the game, is called "Ascend."

Enhancing a weapon using this upgrade path will raise its attack power all the way up to 365 while a piece of armor also improved in this manner will upgrade its light and armor value to the maximum limit, according to Kotaku. Players don't need to worry about losing anything via the new upgrade path since all the perks players have already unlocked for it will remain on the weapon.

The changes coming via the "House of Wolves" expansion were unveiled in a recent livestream event conducted by Bungie. Fans were also able to get a sneak preview of the new social space during the livestream event.

Bungie, the game's developer, has said they will also reveal more news about the game via more livestream events in the future.

"House of Wolves" will be released on May 19.
