Fans of the British-American psychosexual horror television series "Penny Dreadful" will be appeased as Showtime released the official episode synopsis and promotional photos for the second episode in the new season entitled "Verbis Diablo." The episode is written by John Logan and is directed by James Hawes. It is set to air on May 10th, Sunday.

In "Verbis Diablo," Vanessa, played by Eva Green, seeks solace from Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) as she is haunted by witches. Going back in the season premiere "Fresh Hell," Vanessa is barraged by an onslaught of disturbing occult images brought on by Madame Kali also known as Evelyn Poole (Helen McCrory), a spiritualist. While she seeks Sir Malcom's help, Madame Kali enchants Dalton's character. Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) is also in a predicament as he meets an intriguing woman with a secret. This woman also captured his heart.

The rest of the official synopsis from Showtime goes as follows: Scotland Yard Inspector Rusk (guest star Douglas Hodge) searches for the sole survivor of the Mariner's Inn Massacre. Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) gives the re-born Brona (Billie Piper) a new identity. The Creature (Rory Kinnear) gets a new job. Ferdinand Lyle (Simon Russell Beale) reveals the disturbing backstory of the Verbis Diablo. Evelyn's daughter, Hecate (guest star Sarah Greene), hunts down a prize for her mother. Shadowing the official synopsis are over ten promotional photos that were also unveiled by Showtime and Sky Atlantic for the second episode.

Meanwhile, Sky Atlantic's "Penny Dreadful" has bagged three awards in the BAFTA TV Craft Awards held at the The Brewery in London on Sunday. The earned trophies are: Make Up and Hair Design, Original Music, and Production Design. Along with the Josh Hartnett and Eva Green-starring TV Show is BBC One's Sherlock, which won the sound and editing awards in the fiction category.

The BAFTA TV Craft Awards is an accolade presented by British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), which supports the art of the moving image including film, television, and video games.

Are you excited for "Penny Dreadful" this season? What are your prospects for the award winning TV series? Will it be a bummer, or better than the first season? It airs every Sunday, starting May 3 (with the first episode debuted last April 19) on Showtime so don't miss it!
