As of the moment, definite details for God of War 4 has not been unraveled, however, the possible earliest release date is going to be around 2017 with the probability of it getting extended to as late as 2018. The last thing known about the upcoming game is that it will feature a different character leaving Kratos for a different God of War version in the future. The reason behind the lack of information is because the developers have not even started in making the game.
God of War 4 will be making its way to the market in the future, although, Sony has to first complete their first project, remastering God of War 3. This will bring the five year old game into the new-gen console, reviving old memories for previous players as well as delivering it to new audiences. Nothing new will be expected, other than graphics and better gameplay performance, as the new-gen hardware allows.
God of War 3 Remastered will be released on July 14, 2015, by then, God of War 4 will have its turn in development. However, will God of War 4 be a continuation of God of War 3 and is the remastering necessary to understand the upcoming game? A few questions that have sprouted after the movie plot suggests that Kratos will be joined by another mythological creature which is expected to create another spin-off or maybe a prequel.
In the meantime, God of War 4 will be a thought in the heads of anticipating players. They can only hope that it will follow on the footsteps of greatness as its predecessors in terms of both story and gameplay, graphics is simply a bonus. Most likely, after the release of God of War 3 Remastered, new updates will be announced including the real plot of the upcoming game.
