Ultra Street Fighter 4 release date for PS4 consoles finally gets a release date set in May. All downloadable packages since the game's original launch in 2010 as well as currently released DLCs were made available in the game.
Other Ocean Interactive and Sony revealed the release date for the PS4 revival version of the Street Fighter 4 classic by Capcom, Ultra Street Fighter 4. Sony's Gio Corsi announced on the PlayStation Blog on April 17th that they are aiming for a digital release of the game for PS4 on May 26th, 2015. Corsi also added that all the characters, levels, and DLCs that have been launched so far will be included in the PS4 version of the game. The version has also fixed the minor input lag experienced by players in the controls of Ultra Street Fighter 4 for PS3.
The new version will also include new characters and battle stages. The new characters include Poison, Elena, Hugo, Decapre, and Rolento, each of which will have their own unique play style. The new battle stages are Mad Gear Hideout and The Half Pipe in North America, Pitstop 109 in East Asia, Cosmic Elevator in South America, Blast Furnace in Europe, and Jurassic Era Research Facility. The version also features online training, team battle mode, red focus, ultra combo double, delayed standing, and edition select.
Although Ultra Street Fighter 4 was supposedly the last instalment in the series, it seems that Capcom will be pursuing Street Fighter 5 as a tentative release date of the game was announced. Street Fighter 5 is expected to hit PS4 and PC platforms in spring 2016. However, there are still no clear details about the mechanics and gameplay of the upcoming game.
Ultra Street Fighter 4 for PS4 is only available via download at a price of $24.99, a great bargain considering that all the DLCs are included. The game would launch simultaneously in the Americas and Europe. A retail version or physical version in CD has not yet been planned as of this time.
