Get familiar with Android 5.0 Lillipop features (Lollipop is very different from KitKat 4.4.4); research for Android 5.1.1 update and features (to help decide whether it's necessary to get the update or not); know about existing Lollipop bugs and fixes (help deal with Android Lollipop problems); get familiar with sideloading (useful for those skipping the OTA process); clean up your Nexus device (remove outdated and no longer working apps); back up your device (make use of cloud and Google's auto backup features), charge your device (at least 50% battery is required for the updating); and update your apps. Contacting IT and third-party developers is also recommended.
