"Jurassic World" and "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl" are not the only flicks movie goers will be watching this summer as Focus Features and Entertainment One scare fans with their recently released trailer of the upcoming supernatural horror film "Insidious: Chapter 3." New exclusive and disturbing posters were also unveiled by the studios lately.
The new over 2-minute clip sums up almost the synopsis of the film. Certainly, fans are already aware of its content. As shown, protagonist Quinn Brenner, portrayed by Stefanie Scott, is being perturbed by a natural entity. This is because she wants to contact her late mother and reaches out to Elise Rainier, played by Lin Shaye, who reluctantly agrees to contact Stefanie's mom. And the rest is history. The trailer also featured Ashton Moio (Hector) as some kind of Stefanie's love interest. Although, the scene of them texting each other was already flaunted in the very first teaser.
Entertainment One's "Insidious: Chapter 3" is actually the prequel of the previous two installments debuted in 2010 and 2013. The synopsis reads: "This chilling prequel, set before the haunting of the Lambert family, reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl (Stefanie Scott) who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity."
Meanwhile, two new UK posters were also unveiled recently. The first one shows lead Stephanie Scott walking through a spooky doorway still wearing plaster casts on her feet that disintegrates away on the floor. While the other one is a just flipped version of the first, and appearing to be upside down.
The new "Insidious" installment is written and directed by series co-creator Leigh Whannell (Saw). It is slated to release next month (June 5, 2015) in the US. Aside from Stefanie Scott, Lin Shaye, and Ashton Moio, the cast also includes Dermot Mulroney as Sean Brenner, Angus Sampson as Tucker, Steve Coulter as Carl, Ele Keats as Lillith Brenner, and among others.
