The True Detective season 2 premiere, spoilers, and other updates are coming about now that the HBO TV series is about to resume. After more than a year's hiatus, the show is finally back on its feet with quite the number of surprises.

A lot of fans would know that the first season was a complete hit, giving it the consideration of being among the best shows for 2014. The second season is well on its way, with the premiere set on June 21, 2015. Same as with the first, it will also span for 8 episodes this time.

An entirely new cast will be appreciated in True Detective Season 2, which includes Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, Vince Vaughan, as well as Taylor Kitsch. All of them were featured in the official trailer, although the preview itself turned out to be very conservative in terms of revealing anything specific for the upcoming season.

The TV series doesn't stop there with its teases, though, as two posters were uploaded in their official Twitter account. As detailed by a ChristianToday article, one of the posters depicts an evening setting and a radiating fire across the distance. While none of the cast members were shown, a statement was printed which went, "We Get the World We Deserve."

The other poster, on the other hand, shows a bird's-eye view of busy city traffic, in black and white animation. Once again, characters were not shown. For both posters, some people thought that these demonstrate the California road system, which could possibly part of the season 2 plot.

The official synopsis from HBO for True Detective season 2 reads, "A bizarre murder brings together three law-enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California."

Last important tidbit to clarify would be the role of Ani Bezzerides, played by McAdams. There were speculations that her character is inspired by a Californian screenwriter and novelist, A.I. Bezzerides. All this fuss is cleared up by writer and series creator Nic Pizzolatto who confirms that he or his work has nothing to do with the series.

Pizzolatto said in the Wall Street Journal, "I saw the name in a California directory and I liked it. That's it."

These True Detective season 2 premiere, spoilers, and updates would be helpful in giving viewers a more tangible picture on what the show will be like. Viewers should keep a close eye for the next announcement on the series.
