Three new screenshots of God of War 3 Remastered was released, teasing the high quality resolution promised for the upcoming game. With its release date coming so soon, players are wondering whether the remastered version of the five-year old God of War 3 would be worth the buck. Until God of War 3 is released, God of War 4 development won't see the light of day.
Recently, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia sent a press release announcing the official release date of God of War 3 Remastered in Japan which will be on July 16th. Alongside the press release, three new screenshots of the upcoming game were included in crisp 1080p resolution.
God of War director Cory Barlog announced the coming of God of War 3 Remastered last March in the PlayStation Blog as he commemorated the beginning of the God of War series ten years ago. The remastered version of God of War 3 will run the game at 1080p resolution and a steady 60 fps.
Apart from the Photo Mode and new-gen graphics, the remastered version is not much different from the original God of War 3. It includes all the DLC packs previously released in the PS3 edition as well as "Challenge of Exile" which offers new costumes, weapons, and seven new challenges. The story still revolves around Kratos as he seeks revenge from his entire brood. If players are looking to experience the game for the first time, the original version of God of War 3 can even be bought at a lower price since its release five years ago.
Meanwhile, dDeveloper Santa Monica Studio has announced their plans for a God of War 4 which would no longer feature Kratos as the main character. But as of now, Santa Monica Studio is putting all their attention to the development of God of War 3 Remastered and will most likely not be able to start the development of God of War 4 until God of War 3 is released. God of War 4 is expected to be released around 2017 to 2018.
God of War 3 Remastered will come out for PS4 on July 14 across North America, July 15 in Europe, July 16 in Japan, and July 17 across the United Kingdom.
