The latest news on Final Fantasy 15 comes in two forms - the good and the bad. With the innovation achieved as part of the good news, it would be wise to drop the bad first so as to give a positive lasting impression for the game.
What is the bad news, then? Coming from Active Time Report, a video briefing released on the internet by Square Enix, E3 2015 this June will no longer feature Final Fantasy XV. Rather, the developer is considering a later event, Gamescom, to showcase the game.
Hajime Tabata, the director of the game, explains, "E3 doesn't give us sufficient time to fully prepare to release pertinent information about the game. So I have been discussing with our marketing teams, and we've actually been considering Gamescom in August, instead of E3, as the target for the next major reveal."
While Final Fantasy XV would no longer be heard of in the upcoming E3, Square Enix still has other titles that fans ought to be excited for. This includes "Deus Ex," which is already in its second instalment. A new "Hitman" and Lara Croft's "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will also have details to be discussed.
It turns out that August will be the official start for divulging more information about Final Fantasy 15 as Square Enix has other events to follow after Gamescom. Tabata notes that in North America will be PAX Prime some time nearing September. TGS will be in Japan in the middle of the said month as well.
How about for some of the good news? Well, this may also explain the delay for the game, but the game developer made a demonstration of a certain graphics technology, known as Luminous Studio. As further discussed by a news article on Microsoft's Build conference from Polygon, this runs on DirectX 12 for Windows.
The demo was entitled, "Witch Chapter 0 [cry]," which used the same character from an earlier FF concept "Agni's Philosophy" in a Square Enix demo last 2012. Basically, this showed stellar potential in graphics quality a Steve Guggenheimer, who works in Microsoft, says that the technology allows "8k by 8k" textures and resolution where there are 63 million polygons per scene.
While fans will be disappointed for not hearing more about Final Fantasy 15 from E3 this June, its quality is about to be powered like never before. Come August with Gamescom and all the other events to follow, players will marvel at what the Square Enix game has achieved.
