At the Microsoft Build Developer Conference this week, the Square Enix staff had revealed to the public their latest technical achievements. The in-house graphics technology that runs via DirectX 12 for Windows 10 is an engine called Luminous Studio. The product of the new tech demo is called Witch Chapter 0 [Cry].

The Witch Chapter 0 [Cry] is the product of the ongoing research at Square Enix in collaboration with Nvidia and Microsoft, regarding the improvement of the "next generation technology". This refers to the videogame graphics and the processing capabilities. This technology will be incorporated to the Luminous Studio Engine. This will be used for the games, specifically Final Fantasy XV, being developed for the popular consoles like Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The features in the demo shows a familiar face and setting to Final Fantasy fans since it is quite similar to the demo released by Square Enix in 2012. The demo developed the Final Fantasy Concept called "Agni's Philosophy".

According to Hajime Tabata, Director of Final Fantasy 15 and Head of the next-generation technology research project at Square Enix had said in a statement (via Polygon), "As a part of the technical development, we created this demo using world-class, real-time CG technology with generous support from leading -edge software and hardware providers - Microsoft's Windows 10/ DirectX 12 and Nvidia's GeForce GTX. "

The advancements in graphics technology was seen through the demo presented by Square Enix. The Witch Chapter 0 [Cry] demo showed an 8k by 8k resolution texture. It also rendered 63 million polygons per scene which is 6 to 12 times more than the predecessor, ActiveX 11, could perform. The DirectX 12 was designed to deliver an industry leading performance through the widest range of possible factors and through its graphic cards.

With the development of this new technology, it will pave the way for an optimized gaming performance and trigger an even greater innovation to the gaming world. And it all starts with Square Enix developing a Final Fantasy DirectX 12 Promo.
