After the car break-in incident that Mad Catz personnel went through late in April, the exposure of Tekken 7 in the US was threatened. But with the confirmation that Tekken 7 will be coming to the Texas Showdown, the problems that the theft caused seems to have been sorted out. The arcade machines have even been updated and now include four new Tekken 7 characters that will be tagging along the exposure.
Tekken 7 has been getting some exposure in the US since Mad Catz has been bringing Tekken 7 arcade machines to various US events. The team was headed to the Northwest Majors in Des Moines next when they stepped out of the car for a while only to come back to a vehicle with broken windows where all of their personal and work-related items were. Among the stolen items were the keys for Tekken 7 which were specific for the board they had. Luckily, no one from Mad Catz got hurt.
"I'm really really sorry in advance if this hiccup prevents us from showcasing TEKKEN 7 or bringing Mad Catz to upcoming events," Mad Catz's Community and Sponsorship Manager Mark Julio tweeted.
However, developer Bandai Namco worked with Mad Catz and has apparently found a solution to the problem as the Tekken 7 arcade machines are back in business and will continue its exposure to various events across US. The arcade machines have even been updated and now include four new characters namely, Jin, Devil Jin, Josie Rizal, and the recently revealed character, Gigas. This updated version will be showcased in the Texas Showdown and the Combo Breaker tournament this month.
Mark Julio tweeted, "The @Texas_Showdown TEKKEN 7 arcade ver. will be updated to include Jin, Devil Jin, Josie Rizal & Gigas! Get ready for the next battle!" Julio then added a follow-up tweet saying, "This updated version of TEKKEN 7 will also be used at @ComboBreakerFGC in Chicago later this month! See you there at the @MadCatz booth!"
The original Tekken 7 arcade machines only had 20 playable characters before the four new characters were added in the updated version roster. The Texas Showdown will take place next weekend while the Combo Breaker tournament will be on May 22 until May 24.
