A whole new drama and additional characters will be expected by fans in the third season of comedy-drama series "Orange Is the New Black" to debut on June as the recently released trailer by Netflix reveals a great deal of possible undertakings for the inmates of Litchfield Penitentiary. In the teaser, it was disclosed that Alex will be back in prison because of Piper's doing. New characters have also been added to cause a stir in the show.
It was recently reported that the "Orange Is the New Black" will be renewed for season four, and while that will still be in the next few years, a poster has also been unveiled by Netflix with the faces of Daya (Dascha Polanco), Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba), and Red (Kate Mulgrew) on saint candles. There are some items near each faces that signify some moments in their lives. However, the key art didn't much focus on what will happen in the upcoming season.
However, a trailer was released earlier before the poster of the season 3. This two-minute trailer gave a lot of things for the fans to ponder to. Let's start with the scene that shows Alex (Laura Prepon) is pissed because she's back in the prison. Apparently, it was Piper (Taylor Schilling), her on and off lover, who is accountable. This will presumably turn into a conflict as Piper admits her doing to the matter. Will the two still get back together after this glitch?
The teaser also revealed a new feminine look of Carrie "Big Boo" Black, played by Lea DeLaria, who was recently promoted as a regular in the fourth season. However, the clip didn't tell why "Big Boo" has arrived on a new look. Meanwhile, Larry Bloom, portrayed by Jason Biggs, will not appear in the third season as Netflix confirmed in February. He said in an interview with New York Daily News that the show will not be focusing on his character for a while.
Likewise, Pornstache, also known as George Mendez (Pablo Schreiber) might not be around much. The reason for this is his character, as we remember, has been fired and was sent to jail. Consequently, his character's imprisonment will bide him some time. Going back, he was fired because of having an affair with Daya. He was also accused of being the father of her baby.
And speaking of Daya, her forbidden love with corrections officer John Bennett, played by Matt McGorry, will still take forward. Dropping it all, he is also the real father of Daya's baby.
"Orange Is the New Black" Season 3 to Add New Characters
And since it will be a new season, new set of characters have been added to the show that will stir some major drama among the existent leads. One of them is Australian model and MTV VJ Ruby Rose. The 28-year-old model will be playing as Stella Carlin, the new love interest for both Piper and Alex. As shown in the trailer, Piper seemed to blush as she got a wink from Stella.
In the interim, Mary Steenburgen (The Proposal) will also appear in season 3 as Pornstache's mother. She assumes Daya's baby's father is Pornstache, so she visits Litchfield to meet Daya. To complete the new cast list for season 3, Mike Birbiglia, who played as Patrick the support group leader in 2014's "The Fault In Our Stars," has similarly joined the show in an unknown role.
