With all the buzz around OnePlus Two, it's easy to overlook a cheaper model that is also bound to be introduced to the public. Presumably, it's the cheapest of the bunch - one cheaper than current OnePlus models in the market today. In the offing: OnePlus One Lite.
Poised to hit two birds at the same time, OnePlus is expected to launch OnePlus Two by June 2015 along with OnePlus Lite, the former to cater to a higher-end market, the latter to make way in the lower-end.
Quite naturally, there was a lot of talk in the news about the public introduction of the OnePlus Lite in the recently held April 20 OnePlus event. But these talks eventually fizzled as the Pete Lau-led Chinese firm made no mention of the smartphone in said tech gathering. Given the preeminent launching of OnePlus Two, it is widely accepted that the cheaper smartphone will go along with the flagship product as reported on Bloomberg.
Such a strong marketing move should benefit millions of would-be buyers who have seen the amazing works of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer in its successful launching of OnePlus One. To note, the medium-sized smartphone company, one that initially had but 5 workers at the get-go has made a lot of consumer heads turn with its now-famous product with razor-thin margins.
However, OnePlus did not just attract swaths and swaths of market by biting the nail on profits courtesy of its OnePlus One offering, the fine engineering of its smartphones was matched by attention-grabbing marketing. Classic examples: Smash the Past, where wannabe owners are encouraged to destroy their old smartphones to acquire and the invite-only strategy.
Though no specifications have surfaced yet about the OnePlus One Lite, it is expected to give the same stunning OnePlus One features - minus the higher price tag. As for OnePlus Two, it should boast of the following killer features:
- 5.5-inch screens,
- sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor,
- a 4GB RAM,
- a better resolution
- a generous 3300mAh battery,
- OxygenOS
Like its predecessor, sales for the OnePlus One Lite and the OnePlus Two is invite-only.
