Tony Hawk returns to the gaming world with 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5;' upcoming game features 'power-ups' and 'projectiles'

"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" would soon be making its way to PS4 and Xbox One later this year. The PS3 and Xbox 360 editions would soon be released afterwards. Also, the upcoming game would introduce new additional features that would include "power-ups" and "projectiles" that skaters can shoot during "specific missions."

"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" would be developed by Robomodo and published by Activision; Robomodo was also the developer behind several "Tony Hawk" titles like "Tony Hawk: Ride," 2010's "Tony Hawk: Shred" and 2012's "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD," based on a report from Engadget. The upcoming game would also allow players to create and share skating parks apart from the game's co-op and competitive play.

The announcement put to rest speculation over the earlier tweets made by Tony Hawk. It was game publisher Activision and game developers Robomodo and Disruptive Games, which made the official announcement on the upcoming skateboarding video game. "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" would feature familiar and fresh faces in the skateboarding community like Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds apart from Tony Hawk, himself.

On the other hand, an article from Game Informer's June issue detailed how the "power-ups" and "projectiles" that would be featured in the upcoming game would work, based on a report from Kotaku. The Game Informer article read that "Some of the levels charge up your skateboard with level-specific power-ups when completed. For instance, one level we played had a series of electrified wires atop the roofs of successive buildings. Grinding all of them charged up our board, making it a little faster. Another power-up gives you more ramming power-useful when you want to complete a mission such a clearing a pool full of inflatable objects or hitting a soccer ball through a goal."

While players would still be waiting for the game's release date. They could check out the screen shots in the upcoming Game Informer's June issue.
