CD Projekt RED would be lifting "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" review embargo on May 12th as the game would be set for release on May 19th. Also, a few gaming enthusiasts started making comparisons between the game's final build and the pre-release trailer.
With the release of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" a few weeks away, many gaming enthusiasts have started making comparisons between the graphic quality of the game's final build and the pre-release trailer. This led to some criticism on CD Projekt RED as the game was allegedly unable to maintain the previous look of the early footages of the game, based on a report from GearNuke. However, the video quality was reported to be pretty much the same for both the game's final build and the pre-release trailer.
On the other hand, CD Projekt RED would be turning another "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" character into a playable one as gamers would soon be able to control Ciri, Geralt's apprentice witcher, based on a report from PlayStation Lifestyle. Ciri, unlike Geralt of Rivia, would be focusing more on linear missions. Lead Quest Designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz talked more about Ciri in an interview and said that "Basically, Ciri is a totally different character than Geralt. She's inherited this very powerful magic force that she can use when she needs to. She can travel between worlds, she also [had] some more hidden powers that she can use."
It was in December of last year the CD Projekt RED first made mention of Ciri and when gamers would be able to control her during the game. The early statement from CD Projekt RED was that "Ciri is playable only during certain moments in the game - we introduce her to give gamers another perspective in the story to make it even more engaging. You won't play as her for long periods of time, but since she's crucial to the plot, we thought that additional insight will allow gamers to better bond with this cool character."
Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED would also be lifting the game's review embargo a bit early. Before "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" would be launched on May 19th; gamers would be able to expect the first reviews of the game by May 12th, which would be a week ahead of the game, based on a report from Gamepur.
CD Projekt RED's "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" would be available in PS4, Xbox One and PC editions.
