Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen has some bad news for all the gamers waiting for the release of "Titanfall 2." During the EA investor call, the publisher announced that the game's release is still indefinite at the moment. Expectations about the game however, continue to pour online including improvement in the matchmaking system, customizable titans, and more game modes.
"TITAN 2" WISH LIST
"Titanfall" made a name in the modern first-person shoot market but fans are still expecting some changes in the "Titan 2." Gameplay wish list includes players being able to personalize their own titans by marking them. Customizable titans with a unique mark will definitely make the players proud as it gives them a sense of ownership.
Another expectation in "Titanfall 2" is the better Stryder Matchmaking. Quite a number of gamers were frustrated by the number of pitfalls in the first installment. Respawn can pattern the matchmaking system of "Titanfall 2" to "Dota's" matchmaking to avoid irregularity among teams or better yet develop a system that gathers the players with similar interest. "Titanfall 2" could display every player's status when they are connecting to the server to prevent players from suddenly discontinuing the game.
Gamers also ask for additional game modes in "Titanfall2" that are more objective-based like the Search and Destroy from Call of Duty or the Obliteration game mode from Battlefield 4.
RELEASE DATE
The sequel for "Titanfall" was announced last March but its release remains indefinite. EA announced that fans should get their hopes up that "Titanfall 2" will be released this year. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said that the game will most likely be released in fiscal year 2017, which runs from April 1 2016 to March 31, 2017.
Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella confirms that "Titanfall 2" is in progress but a lot of work still need to be accomplished.
"So we're working on a sequel. No official name yet, but we're working on that. That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It'll be multiplatform," Zampella said.
An improved gameplay is being expected in EA's "Titanfall 2" but whatever the changes may be, the fans will be able to see it maybe late next year or early 2017.
