'Captain America: Civil War' will indeed set the stage for the two installments of 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Even Captain America, Chris Evans, told everyone that the third installation of Cap will act as a prequel to the upcoming Avengers film.
Speaking with MTV, Captain America himself, Chris Evans, opened up regarding the movie as he mentioned it as a set-up for the "real battle" in 2018 and 2019's 'Avengers: Infinity War'. Evans said that Cap 3 will be composed of many superheroes and "it's to help jump off into the next 'Avengers: Infinity War."
In comics, 'Civil War' has been hailed as one of the best comic storylines. The events that would transpire will break alliances, and will cause characters to cross morality lines that fans will not be expecting to see.
So basically, Cap 3 is another Avengers movie, which will star everyone. Characters including Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and most of the actors who starred in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be seen in "Captain America: Civil War."
In the same interview with MTV, Mark Ruffalo who plays Hulk in the Avengers film hinted that he will not be included in Cap 3, but Johansson is hopeful for some changes to happen at the last moment.
Meanwhile, Avengers franchise, 'The Avengers: Infinity War' Parts 1 and 2 will be directed by the Russo siblings: Anthony and Joe. They will also be teaming up with famous directors with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The four men joined forces on 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and are at present in full force for the forthcoming 'Captain America: Civil War'.
The release dates of 'The Avengers: Infinity War' Part 1 and Part 2 will be on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019, while 'Captain America: Civil War' is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2016 in 3D and IMAX.
