"Forever" left its viewers with a lot of questions when its first season finale ended with a cliffhanger. The biggest question however, is if Jo will find out the truth about Henry's identity next season. Creator Matt Miller teases the fans of show that a new mythology might appear in Season 2 if ABC renews the show.
ABC's "Forever" ended its first season with the biggest cliffhanger where Abe (Judd Hirsch) urged his father Henry (Ioan Gruffudd) to tell his partner Jo (Alana De La Garza) the biggest secret of his life. Before the confrontation, Jo saw Henry's pocketwatch and an old family photograph with her partner in it.
According to a report, it would be interesting if Jo finds out about Henry's immortality, given that they are partners. Her reaction to Henry's revelation could be the highlight of the "Forever Season 2" opener. However, Jo's knowledge of her mystic partner's secret could be a game changer to their relationship. It could test Detective Martinez's trust to Henry, where it could either go to two places. First, she might find it hard to believe and distance herself from Henry at first or she could accept it since she is an open-minded woman then solidify her relationship with Henry even more.
"Forever's" showrunner Matt Miller said that they have already pitched a Season 2 story to ABC that includes bringing up new mythology involving Adam (Burn Gorman). In an interview, Miller revealed that they think there is still a deeper story to tell about Henry's fellow immortal. The creator went on to tease the fans about season 2 previews saying,
"We also want to introduce new characters that add some fresh blood to this world and be able to work in the idea, not only of the mythology, but in the romance of the series and other stories that we want to pursue."
Despite the uncertainty of another season, "Forever" seems to have an interesting storyline in store for their fans including Jo possibly finding out about Henry's big secret. Aside from a potential game changer, "Forever" season 2 also sees the inclusion of new mythology, characters, and romance.
