A director and a writer are already available for the "Death Note" American live-movie adaptation but casts for the upcoming film remains to be unavailable. To satiate the cravings of the fans, a musical adaptation is now live in Japan and will be on Osaka and Nagoya this May. South Korea on the other hand will enjoy the "Death Note" musical starting from July to August.
Adam Wingard was formally announced to be the man behind the lens of the upcoming "Death Note" US movie remake after rumors of Shane Black and Gus Van Sant on the project. Wingard is best known for his works in the movie "The Guest" and "You're Next." The movie featuring Light, L and Ryuk gets "Fantastic Four" Jeremy Slater working on its story line. The movie adapted from the manga series is about Light, an exceptional boy who abused a notebook that can bring death to people as soon their names are listed in it. The casts for the upcoming film remains to be unavailable for fans
Cravings for the Shinigami movie can still be enjoyed with a "Death Note" musical adaptation available in Japan and South Korea. Horipro began streaming a more than 4-minute video of the "Death Note Musical" earlier this April featuring Light, Misa, L and Ryuk. The all-Japanese cast ran from April 6 to April 29 in the Nissay Theatre of Tokyo and is now bound to conquer Osaka and Nagoya. The show will also run in South Korea this coming July to August with a different batch of artists.
The "Death Note" live-action movie was earlier released in Japanese cinemas but did not quite hit off as expected. With Adam Wingard and Jeremy Slater behind the project, plus an expected all-star cast for the film, its success on the American cinemas is most likely feasible.
Meanwhile, one can go enjoy a live musical of the "Death Note" in Nagoya and Osaka this month or sometime later in South Korea by July and August. Casts of the upcoming film are expected to be announced before 2015 ends.
