"The Walking Dead" is gearing up for season six and the last episode left many fans wondering if the series will return this year and what will happen to the rest of the characters in the upcoming season. Here are three things you need to know about season six:
Release Date
According to What Culture, "The Walking Dead" season 6 is expected to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. Given the history of the show premiering three days after the New York Comic Con, it would be safe to assume that TWD would be back on AMC on the said date. The outlet cited that the last three seasons premiered on October 14, 13, and 12 respectively and season six is expected to air its finale on March 2016.
The Walkers Will Take the Center Stage
For quite some time now, "The Walking Dead" mainly focused on humans battling against each other and left little interest to the walkers. Now, showrunner Scott Gimple hinted that in season six, things will change, as the show begins to reinvent itself.
"We're currently putting into motion some of our most ambitious stuff yet, and things are going to get very big, loud, and scary," he said.
Daryl Dixon's Possible Love Interest
TWD fans have long been hoping to see a relationship take place between Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier, but from the looks of it, Daryl will have a new love interest come season six. According to Wetpaint, a new character named "Allison" has recently been enlisted as a new cast to the AMC series and could possibly play as Daryl's love interest. The outlet noted that Allison is a "smart, artful, and charming psychologist who quickly turns awkward and messy when it comes to her personal life."
Season six will also take place in Alexandria, as the show kicks off in October and introduces two new characters, Delvin and Tucker. The show will also explore more on Rick and Morgan's relationship, as the latter decides to stay in Alexandria together with Rick and the rest of the group.
