"Castle" fans remain hopeful that ABC series will return for another season in 2016 following its season 7 finale, which airs on Monday, May 11. While the series is still waiting for an official renewal order from the network, the uncertainty remains as Stana Katic has not yet renewed her contract should the show come back on TV for Season 8.
There seems to be good news for fans, however, as Michael Ausiello from TV Line previously hinted that he is "hearing encouraging news on the state of Stana Katic's 'Castle' negotiations." Aside from this good news, the show's creator, Andrew Marlowe also dismissed rumors that fans will see either Beckett or Castle die at the season 7 finale of "Castle."
"I think that we can say that if we were to come back next year, we would be coming back with all of our pieces intact," Marlowe told Entertainment Weekly.
This statement has led many fans to believe that Stana Katic would be back for season 8, despite several statements from the newly married actress, which seemed to hint that she would be leaving the show. In an interview with TV Line in 2014, Katic said that a show should not "overstay its welcome."
Katic also recently thanked her fans on Twitter for their well wishes on her wedding, following her 24 behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram before she went "radio silent."
