"Castle" is only less than a week away from its season 7 finale and the uncertainty for the show's future lies ahead, as the show still has not received an official renewal order from the network. Stana Katic still has not renewed her contract for another season and Seamus Dever demands answers regarding the show's renewal for season 8.
"Castle" will be airing its season 7 finale episode next week and fans are still wondering if they would still see their favorite police comedy drama back on screen for season 8. The show has not yet received an official renewal order from the network, but fans are still hopeful that the network would announce its renewal this month.
In an earlier report from IB Times, the official renewal orders for seasons 6 and 7 came in on the month of May. Given these facts, fans began speculating that the announcement for "Castle" season 8 will come in this month. The show's uncertainty for another season comes in with the fact that one of its lead actresses, Stana Katic, still has not renewed her contract. Katic has previously hinted that she would be leaving the show after season 7 comes to an end.
"If the character is complete, if there is nowhere else to go creatively, then I think it's better to stop when you're on top," she told TV Line in an earlier interview. The actress recently thanked her fans for their well wishes following her wedding and said that they are currently filming in a secret location for the finale of "Castle." Katic previously went "radio silent" after posting 24 behind-the-scenes photos on her Instagram account.
Meanwhile, Seamus Dever, who plays Detective Kevin Ryan on "Castle," aired his sentiments on the uncertainties surrounding the show's renewal.
"Nobody's talked to me about Season 8, so that's where I'm standing... It'd be nice to get some answers soon," he said.
