David Letterman's "Best Moments" Will Always Be Remembered; "The Late Show" ends in Two Weeks

By

David Letterman, the host of the "Late Show' will air his last show on May 20. The 68-year old television host already announced his retirement, and with this many were saddened because there will be no funny late-night show jokes from the man who had filmed 6,000 episodes.

"Viral videos" was one of the many reasons of Letterman's retirement. His competitor at night, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon both have viral videos, and Letterman thought to himself "I hear about things going viral and I think, 'How do you do that?"

But these viral videos can't compete with David Letterman's 33-year late night episodes. His shows were always full of wisdom, funny antics and show-stopping guests. And these will be missed by his late-night audience.

Ray Romano hosted a tribute for the veteran Letterman. The episode ran for 90 minutes, all showing Letterman's best moments of being a host for more than 30 years. One of his most memorable episodes was "Stupid Pet Tricks" where exotic animals were all over the studio. Also, he taped an episode outside his studio where he dropped a watermelon from a five-storey building and the fruit splattered all over the road.

Justin Bieber was also included in the highlights of the show, where he showed his first tattoo on TV. There was also the "Top 10 List" which was already a classic. Among the "best moments" were also the television appearances of Bill Murray, Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, Robin Williams, John Malkovich and Steve Martin.

Musical guests like Beyonce, Paul McCartney and other famous rising rock bands were also featured in Letterman's long running show. But looking back, one episode made it hard for him, and it was the 9/11 attacks.

"The Late Show with David Letterman" will have its last show in just two weeks. Stephen Colbert of former "Colbert Report" will take the place of Letterman which will air on September 8.
