Jimmy Kimmel Pays Tribute To David Letterman by Showing A Rerun on May 20; Kimmel Part of Pacquiao's Entourage

Out of respect for his idol David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel will show only a rerun on the 20th of May. Letterman is going to retire sooner, and Kimmel chose not to compete with the veteran comedian.

"I have too much respect for Dave to do anything that would distract viewers from watching his final show. Plus, I'll probably be crying all day, which makes it hard to work," Jimmy Kimmel stated. "It's very sad for me, personally," added Kimmel. He said he grew up watching David Letterman, and he watched it live because they have no VCR back then.

Prior to Kimmel's premiere in 2012, he has e-mailed Letterman, asking him to be a guest on his show. But then David Letterman was not available, and a letter was sent to Kimmel saying "Unfortunately, I will be out of the country on business. I'm sure the program will be a success regardless. Sincerely, Dave." The framed letter is still hanging in his office.

While Jimmy Kimmel will not air live on Letterman's farewell episode, late-night competitor Jimmy Fallon is not going to do the same as Kimmel. On May 20, Fallon is set to air original installments for the "The Tonight Show," also with "The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore" and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" of Comedy Central.

In related news, Jimmy Kimmel appeared to be part of Manny Pacquiao's entourage during the May-Pac fight last May 2. During the event, Justin Bieber and the Burger King mascot were beside Floyd Mayweather, but many were shocked when they saw Jimmy Kimmel wearing this hilarious outfit (all with gold blings and a hat).

Kimmel wondered why there were no big names in Pacquiao's entourage, and this is what he said during an interview: "Manny Pacquiao didn't have a sexy teen idol in his camp, so I offered myself."
