We've already seen a few glimpses of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in next spring's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And in all of those glimpses, we've seen largely the same thing: Gal Gadot, dressed in her Wonder Woman Costume, holding a sword or otherwise looking fairly fierce and warrior-like.
But a new piece of concept art offers a different look at the character (well, just a little)- but more importantly, it offers up a few clues on what Wonder Woman's role in the film will be. Seen on Instagram, the latest concept art is a little blurry, but still clearly shows off Gadot in her Wonder Woman suit. Except this time, she's got her arms crossed!
It doesn't sound like much, but in DC Comics, Wonder Woman regularly uses her bracelets (the Bracelets of Submission) to deflect bullets and protect herself in combat. Presumably, if someone at Warner Bros drew up concept art of Wonder Woman in that iconic pose, it means she'll likely be doing some bullet-deflecting over the course of Batman v Superman. Which, naturally, would mean her role is far more than a cameo and actually factors into at least one major fight scene.
Batman v Superman already has a pantheon of DC Comics characters stocking the cast. Along with Wonder Woman, it's recently been rumored that Jared Leto's Joker will appear at some point as a cameo (potentially as a part of Batman's backstory). Otherwise, he'll show up as a major player in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, which hits theaters next summer. Appearances from Cyborg, Flash and other superheroes have also been rumored for Batman v Superman.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. Catch Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters on March 25, 2016.
